Flex and AMF-Ruby... sweeter than sugar

Developing a site in ruby on rails is a breeze. Knowing the basics about the ruby on rails framework, goes a long way. Unfortunately my team was unaware of this little fact and went on to develop a mess (No names here.). But finally when I resumed my activity in the project it was too late. Now I am doing the most un-thankful job of cleaning up the mess. While doing this job and replacing the odd clumsy html controls by cool flex web 2.0 widgets, I stumbled upon Amf-ruby. It was love at first sight. Remoting makes your life easy while working with flash. Amf-ruby is making my life so much easy, reducing the data transfer and the execution time on the server(AMF remoting takes a lot less time than xml-rpc). Planning to pull up some tutorials to that effect to help the community that is doing so much to make AMF remoting mainstream. Should have it by tomorrow morning.

Resuming blog activity. I was out of action for a while now. And I am also not sure whether this new found enthusiasm for me to resume blogging will last for long. But I have been working very hard for a while, and I am kind of sick of it. So I must do something to take time off all the work and do something, just for fun. A while back (actually a long time back), I used to have fun programming/modifying graphics/game engines. I think its time for me to write one of my own. My new found love in C# and XNA are probably going to seed what would be my engine. Lets see if this engine is able to survive my time crunch and blossom.
